Job Description:

If you want to make a significant impact as an Orientation & Mobility Specialist (O&M) in School setting, in Santa Clara, CA this position might be what you are looking for!

Responsibilities:

• Conduct orientation and mobility assessments for students with visual impairments.
• Develop and implement mobility goals as part of the student’s IEP.
• Teach safe travel skills, spatial awareness, and use of mobility aids (e.g., long cane).
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student independence.
• Participate in IEP meetings and maintain required documentation.

Qualifications:

• Certification as an Orientation & Mobility Specialist (COMS) issued by the National Blindness Professional Certification Board
• National Orientation and Mobility Certification (NOMC) issued by the National Blindness Professional Certification Board
• Orientation & Mobility Specialist Certification (PK–12)
• Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) endorsement with O&M specialization
• Special Education certification with O&M authorization
